Work Department
The Works Department, Kolhapur Zilla Parishad is a very important department in terms of development work. Under this department, the grants provided by the State Government and Zilla Parishad include construction of new roads, maintenance and repair of roads, construction of government buildings and residences, training buildings, community temples, public libraries, multipurpose halls, primary health center buildings and residences, etc.

The total length of other district roads and rural roads under the Works Department is 5450.506 kilometers, out of which 3243.902 kilometers are asphalt, 673.579 kilometers are gravel, 1148.414 kilometers are murami and 384.611 kilometers are unsurfaced.
